DiaZone OW Drinking Water Systems

DiaZone OW (ozone-water) drinking water disinfection systems are easy to install and operate; they are robust, reliable, effective, economical and intrinsically safe.

Each DiaZone OW drinking water system includes two separate cabinets, one "Wet" and one "Dry". The Wet enclosure incorporates the DiaZone cell(s), circulation pump, flow cell (with ORP and/or ozone sensor), and flow sensor. Water is drawn from a low level in the tank, circulated through the cells in the Wet enclosure and returned to the top of the tank. The flow and water condition is monitored continuously. The Dry enclosure houses the distribution panel, programmable power supplies, solid state relays for polarity reversal, PLC controller and the control panel and HMI screen.

As an option, a data-logging device can be installed along with telemetry to upload data, at regular intervals, to a secure website. In this case, the essential operating data (current and voltage of each cell, flow, ORP value, ozone concentration, etc.) is recorded every 60 seconds and then uploaded to website, typically every 15 minutes. Data can downloaded to computer and viewed in graphical form or as raw data for analysis. Any period from 1 day to 12 months can be viewed in graphical form. This system provides a detailed audit trail where the performance of the system can be viewed and scrutinised.

The installed capacity of DiaZone is a function of tank volume, water usage, water quality and chemistry. As ozone is a powerful disinfectant, at least ten times more powerful than chlorine, the concentration required for effective disinfection is very low indeed, typically between 50 and 100 parts per billion (ppb). Ozone is also fast acting and the contact time required for treatment is low.

Prefiltration (to remove organic matter, particulates and suspended solids) and post filtration (to remove precipitates of iron, manganese and other heavy metals) may also be required depending on the water source. DiaZone systems may be used for disinfecting and maintaining disinfection of mains, borehole and surface waters. Tank systems are easy to install and operate; they are robust, reliable, effective, economical and intrinsically safe.
