DiaZone systems can be used for a wide range of industrial applications including:
- Cooling towers and evaporative condensers
- Process water and process vessels
- Deionised and ultra-pure water
- Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems
- Workplace and "Whole Room" by ozone-water fogging systems
- Phosphoric acid baths
- Hypochlorous acid from chloride
- Chlorine from hydrochloric acid
- Peroxodisulphate from sulphuric acid
Cooling tower systems typically incorporate two or more DiaZone undivided cells. One cell disinfects the water in the reservoir at the base of the tower and the other introduces mixed oxidants into the return line to the tower. Both cells produce a range of powerful oxidants and radicals including hydroxyl radicals, peroxo compounds (such as peroxocarbonate and peroxodisulphate) and hydrogen peroxide. In addition, a small amount of chloride is dosed into the cell to produce hypochlorous acid. The combination of these oxidants maintains the required level of disinfection in the tower.
Our electrolytic ozone cells are ideal for disinfecting process water and also maintaining the required level of disinfection in process tanks and pipe systems. Ozonation of de-ionised and ultrapure water maintains water quality and prevents bacterial contamination. Ozone has a relatively short half life and simply reverts to oxygen leaving no residues.
DiaZone cells can operate in the pH range from 0 to 14 and, for example, can be applied to phosphoric acid baths to prevent bacterial blooming. Undivided DiaZone cells can be used to breakdown toxic, recalcitrant and hazardous compounds such as organohalogens and even fluorocarbons such as PFOS.
